Jesus is a friend of believers! – John 15:15

Muslims for Jesus debate has finally begun...

Pope Leo XIV calls for peace and press freedom in his first news briefing

Should Muslims be proud of Jesus and His Gospel?

Pope Leo XIV responded:  Muslims should be PROUD of Jesus and His Gospel because Islam reveres him as a major prophet, the Messiah, and a highly honored figure whose mother, Mary, is considered one of the most pure women. Muslims believe Jesus was born of a virgin, performed miracles with God’s permission, and will return to Earth. The shared monotheistic belief and respect for Jesus and His teachings are a source of pride and connection between the two faiths.

Why Muslims honor Jesus?

– A revered prophet: Muslims view Jesus (Isa) as one of God’s greatest messengers, sent to the Israelites.

-The Messiah: He is known as the Messiah (Al-Masih) and is described as the “Word of God” and a “spirit from God” in the Quran.

-Miraculous birth and life: Muslims believe in his miraculous virgin birth and that he performed many miracles, such as healing the sick and raising the dead, with the will of God. His mother, Mary (Maryam), is regarded as one of the most righteous and exalted women in creation.

-Ascension and return: Muslims believe he was physically raised to heaven and will return to defeat the anti-Christ (Dajjal) before the Day of Judgment.

Why His Gospel is respected?
  • A message from God: The Gospel (Injil) is considered a sacred book revealed by God, and its original message is seen as a continuation of the same divine truth delivered by earlier prophets.
  • Emphasis on righteousness: The message of Jesus, like that of all prophets in Islam, emphasizes a life of morality, righteousness, and submission to the one true God.
  • Teachings of love and forgiveness: Islamic tradition honors the message of love and forgiveness found in Jesus’s teachings, such as “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you”.
His exceptional miracles
The Quran confirms many of the miracles attributed to Jesus, including:
  • Speaking from the cradle as an infant to defend his mother’s honor.
  • Healing the blind and the leper.
  • Raising the dead, all with God’s permission.
  • Bringing a clay bird to life by breathing into it, by God’s will.

He is a “Word” and a “Spirit” from God:
The Quran refers to Jesus with special, unique titles, calling him a “Word from God” and “a Spirit from Him”.
His vital role in the end times
Muslims believe that Jesus did not die by crucifixion but was raised to God and will return to Earth before the Day of Judgment. His mission during his second coming will be to defeat the False Messiah (Dajjal), restore justice, and reaffirm the original monotheistic message.
.
Why are Muslims PROUD of Jesus and His Gospel?
Muslims believe that His Gospel (Injil) was a divine revelation from God to Jesus, containing guidance and light for the Children of Israel. This places it within the chain of holy scriptures sent by God, including the Torah and the Quran.

It affirmed the monotheistic message:
The Gospel, in its original form, is believed to have confirmed the monotheistic message of previous prophets, emphasizing the worship of one God. This is a core Islamic tenet that connects the message of Jesus with the wider message of Islam.

It holds a place in Islamic scripture
As a revealed book from God, Muslims are required to believe in the original Gospel as part of the six articles of faith. The Quran explicitly mentions the Gospel and encourages the “People of the Book” (Christians and Jews) to “observe the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord” (Quran 5:68).

Love doesn’t necessarily breed pride but pride breeds Love!
