Jesus is a friend of believers! – John 15:15

Pope Leo XIV responded: Muslims should be PROUD of Jesus and His Gospel because Islam reveres him as a major prophet, the Messiah, and a highly honored figure whose mother, Mary, is considered one of the most pure women. Muslims believe Jesus was born of a virgin, performed miracles with God’s permission, and will return to Earth. The shared monotheistic belief and respect for Jesus and His teachings are a source of pride and connection between the two faiths.
– A revered prophet: Muslims view Jesus (Isa) as one of God’s greatest messengers, sent to the Israelites.
-The Messiah: He is known as the Messiah (Al-Masih) and is described as the “Word of God” and a “spirit from God” in the Quran.
-Miraculous birth and life: Muslims believe in his miraculous virgin birth and that he performed many miracles, such as healing the sick and raising the dead, with the will of God. His mother, Mary (Maryam), is regarded as one of the most righteous and exalted women in creation.
-Ascension and return: Muslims believe he was physically raised to heaven and will return to defeat the anti-Christ (Dajjal) before the Day of Judgment.
It affirmed the monotheistic message:
The Gospel, in its original form, is believed to have confirmed the monotheistic message of previous prophets, emphasizing the worship of one God. This is a core Islamic tenet that connects the message of Jesus with the wider message of Islam.
It holds a place in Islamic scripture
As a revealed book from God, Muslims are required to believe in the original Gospel as part of the six articles of faith. The Quran explicitly mentions the Gospel and encourages the “People of the Book” (Christians and Jews) to “observe the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord” (Quran 5:68).
